My Poker Chip Buying Guide
Is there someone special you would like to buy poker chips for but you have no idea how many they will need? The answers lie in our poker chip buying guide!
How many poker chips will you be buying?
Boy is this going to be easy! You take the number of people in your poker party, multiplied by the total drinks each person will consume squared, multiplied by the number of corn dogs that will be eaten, multiplied by the number of pocket protectors in plain view and then divide by the number of flying cats you see in the room... See how easy that was? Why were you so confused in the first place? ;-)
If the numbers didn’t seem to work out for you, then let’s try another method. The required number
of poker chips can be figured using the number of people who will be partaking in your poker club. An easy thing to remember is to have a minimum of 35 poker chips for each player and if you can afford it, 50 to 100 poker chips for each player is dreamy. If your group is say 3 to 4 people, you will do fine with 300+ poker chips. If your poker tournament is going to be 5 to 6 people, you will want 400+ poker chips. If your poker party will be 7+ people, you will likely want 500+ poker chips. Make certain you get plenty of poker chips to keep your friends happy when they get hungry and realize you forgot to pick up some food.
What type of chips are best for your group?
We
would highly recommend Pringles, Ruffles, or Lays. Each of these will put grease on your fingers and fat on your tummy... Oops! You wanted to know about poker chips, not potato chips. All that talk about beer and brats earlier caused me to forget what I was doing! ;-)
If you are new to the game of poker or on a budget, then you may want to begin with plastic poker chips. Plastic poker chips are the least expensive poker chips while still offering you the feel of casino poker. If you would like to go a step up from plastic poker chips, you should take a look at composite clay poker chips. Composite clay poker chips offer you the look and feel of casino poker chips without the cost. If you
just have to recreate the casino in your home, then you must get your hands on some clay poker chips. Clay poker chips are the most expensive poker chips but they will bring an authenticity to your poker game that the other poker chips simply cannot.
Do I really need this many colors to play poker?
White is for hot dog bun, red is for ketchup, green is for relish, black is for olives, and blue is for mold...yummy! Got it? See how easy this is. ;-)

I probably shouldn’t have shared my idea about potato chip poker chips. Are you already hard at work? Now I am never going to get rich quick and I will have to continue at this writing thing… I guess the only thing left for me to do is author a novel called "All I really need to know I learned from poker chips." When you strike it rich and I am starving to death, will you share some potato chip poker chips with the humble person who shared all of their knowledge with you?
Beware of the greasy winning hand!
